BOYNEXTDOOR
As far as she could remember, Lexi Collins had been competing with next-door-neighbour, playboy jock Noah Evans in every. single. thing. Grades, sports, arts, music, popularity...you name it. It's been this way since they were seven when she lost to him for the first time. And as much as Lexi hated to admit, Noah was always one step ahead. Somehow she could never truly win him in anything. Until. One day, she discovers a secret cheesy love letter Noah had written to her best friend. Not without him discovering she's interested in his, too (dammit). So the two rivals strike a deal to help the other party get their love interest, and start a game of who's-the-better-matchmaker. Except that's where the problem arises. The more they played this game, the more they realise they don't want to play it. Because feelings can just be such a tricky little thing and they realise their feelings toward each other seem to be...changing. But like always, neither of the rivals wants to pull out of the game just yet. Neither wants to admit they've lost to the other. Just who's going to win in this tricky game of love? Or is love ultimately just a losing game?

Lexi was broken, she knew it since her mom died, but then her boyfriend left her in a jail cell and those broken pieces shattered into even smaller pieces. Liam was hurting, however he kept it all in. He never told anyone how he felt, he never expressed what was wrong until it all exploded out. Lexi was lost, alone, and humiliated. Liam was guilt ridden, confused, and misunderstood. Liam may not have been who Lexi was looking for, but he most certainly will be the answer she needs. Together they tackle some of the biggest moral questions in life, and together they learn that you can't wait for someone to give you all the answers, you have to find them yourself.
