Fall spent in New York has always been 16 year old Maple Jackson's highlight of the year, reading in Central Park by autumn leaves, and dancing to 'All Too Well' in the rain- coated streets. However, things are about to change, and in Maple's opinion, not for the better. Maple's mother Marie has recently tied the knot to a humble, small-town citizen, whose 11 year old daughter is the definition of a 'Spoiled Brat', and to make matters worse, Maple has to move in with them, and leave the very memory-filled New York behind. However, if Maple can attempt to be more open-minded, perhaps she can open her doe, dark brown eyes to the charm of Honeydale, and maybe even a possible romance...
