*This is a slight AU of Encanto. Where it takes place after the movie except Mariano and Dolores don't get together until way after Casita is rebuilt, (Mirabel also still stays in the same room because Casita is her door and she's the next candle holder, as you can tell from the movie's ending. Duh), they're now a happy family of course, and Mariano is a childhood friend of the Madrigals. Lastly Antonio's ceremony has already passed in this story.*
Dolores and Mariano have always had feelings for each other ever since they were kids. Now that they have grown into mature adults, they finally gain the courage of telling each other how they really feel. At first, everything is perfect. However, love was never easy. Obstacles start to come inbetween the lovers and try to force them apart. It's going to take 2 strong souls and a little help from familia to defeat the darkness.

The Madrigal's are a famed family that reside within Encanto. They were given a gift, a miracle, and that miracle is passed down through many generations. Their purpose is to serve, help, and protect the citizens of their village. Abuela Alma is the matriarch of the household. Her husband, Abuelo Pedro, sacrificed himself to give her the miracle. This left Abuela to raise 3 beautiful children and lead a village. When these three children turned five, it was their turn to receive the miracle. Each was given a magical gift that would aid them in serving the village. Pepa was given the ability to control the weather with her emotions, Julieta was given the power to heal through food, and Bruno was given the power to see into the future. But as kids do, they grew up. Each child grew into an adult and with some pressure from Abuela, they began looking for partners. Pepa married her childhood friend, Félix, and it was the beginning of Bruno's bad reputation. Julieta, on the other hand, married a clumsy man named Augustin. After their marriages, both women were pregnant soon. And Abuela was delighted to have more magical blessings on the way. Delores and Isabela were born first. The very first grandchildren to the Madrigal family. But between their birth and when they received their powers, Bruno's reputation continued to deteriorate.
