It's Strange What Desire Will Make Foolish People Do.
He catches a droplet of wine running from her lips to her chin with his thumb, his hand remains on her face as he cups her cheek with it he leans on his side so he's almost looming over her when she asks with a whisper "What are you doing?"
"Breaking the rules." He answers simply then he connects their lips together.
Following the chaos that broke out amongst the two factions within House Targaryen that evening at Driftmark Annerys Velaryon is betrothed to Aegon Targaryen by her Grandfather with the hope that their union might close the rift within his family.
Annerys accepts that for duty she must forgoe love yet the longer she is marrried to Aegon the harder it is to distinguish who her Love and her Duty belong to anymore.
When I set out to write a piece about House of The Dragon I started thinking about where a new character might fit in and how her story might have unfolded if she had been in Fire and Blood and rather than setting out to create a piece about Aegon.
So whilst love does develop between the two characters Aegon retains his core character traits which we watch Annerys respond to in a patriarchal landscape where she has no allies other than her husband as her family remain at Dragonstone.
My plan is to make a complex story with complex characters that can be read with nuance, but perhaps I'm getting ahead of myself.

She takes each of them to the precipice of their ego through a journey of self-exploration and passion. --- This fan fiction depicts Daemon and Aemond in a big brother/younger brother dynamic. They engage in a mutual love triangle with an ethereal woman that offers them both affection, gratification, and counsel. Despite political and personal differences, Aemond and Daemon find themselves forever connected by their love and, at times, obsession of her. This story exists in an "alternate timeline" where Viserys has not named Rhaenyra (or anyone, for that matter) as his heir. This is a slow-ish burn (trust the process!) that is a bit ~spicy~ but plot focused (to say--spice isn't the whole point of the story).
