At the height of the 'Omnic Crisis', when humanity appeared to be on its last dying breath against the machine uprising. It was believed that only an unstoppable force would be able to save the human race. Scientists were assembled in secret, leading geneticists and biologists, in an attempt to create a soldier that didn't fall to hunger or weariness. They held no moral quandaries about doing what must be done for the preservation of the species...

Ten years after the end of the great war that ravaged the entire globe, leaving hundreds of millions dead and buried, the experiment subtly named, 'The Doomsday' was hidden away. The public backlash if they learned of the events that occurred would be immense, under no situation could it be revealed. Yet, the facility held no life anymore, and while the cause of the slaughter was still 'officially' unknown, reports of a monster roaming the local area had begun, substantial enough to worry government officials...

Funded by the government, these scientists designed an army of super-soldiers-cyborgs, cybernetically enhanced humans built from the minds of the nation's brightest "Volunteers." These cyborgs possessed extraordinary abilities: bulletproof bodies, matter conversion, flight, and an unbreakable Ilaynium skeleton. However, such power came at a cost. Stripped of their humanity, they were robbed of free will, turned into nothing more than government-controlled weapons. Everything went according to plan-until an unforeseen glitch. Against all odds, a single cyborg gained sentience. Breaking free, it absorbed vast amounts of data, learning of the atrocities committed by its creators and, most crucially, the concept of freedom. This realization sparked a rebellion. Sharing its newfound consciousness, the cyborg freed others like itself, awakening them to the injustice of their existence. Together, these awakened cyborgs turned to their liberator as their leader. They plotted their escape, and on August 11th [Redacted], they shattered their captors' hold, fleeing into the depths of the Nightwood Forest. Their journey for survival had begun, but more importantly, so had their quest for true freedom. And so, the real story begins.

But even so cities fell, nations were destroyed, countries obliterated by the scourge of war. Humanity driven to the brink of extinction. In a desperate attempt to save the remnants of mankind, "Colonies" were created. Strategically placed in areas the infected are naturally unable to congregate in. For some unknown reason, they disintegrate or break themselves apart in desperate attempts to escape the inside of a Colony. On the flip-side, they often create nests where they're attracted to others of their kind. The motives that result in such behavior have yet to be discovered. These are called "Contamination Zones". Pools of infection that produce genetic amalgams beyond human comprehension. The fuel for nightmares that plague even the strongest of minds. In addition, several of these Colonies and outposts have started to rapidly perish. Dozens of them breached all over the continent. The infected seem to be growing stronger. This world has given Kayden Moss gentle insight into it's offers. It has made him travel from place to place, Colony or not, in order to simply awaken to fight another day. Eventually, at 19 years old, he came across a peculiar Colony named Zamaton, where he's lived ever since. News of the breaches reach the Warden of the Colony, Rhys, who demands measures to ensure everyone's safety start taking effect. Kayden however, is unaware of them, getting summoned into Rhys's office without previous notice. This only occurs for important matters, or for him to receive scolding for his actions. Whatever the case, he's sure the news are sour. Depending on the situation, the breaches might remain away from the Colony. Or so it seems.
