Between the fact he could never use his own magic to it's fullest or the creepy letters that were beginning to get more on the edge of creepy then annoying, he could barely catch a break.

Percy Jackson is not a good person. At least, not anymore. Percy has been through a lot. Annabeth is dead and his few remaining friends are scattered across America. Percy's been loyal and heroic his whole life, he's always done what the gods asked. And they have only ever repaid him with pain and indifference. So now it's his turn. His longing for justice is growing and the more bitter he becomes, the more it sinks in that without Annabeth, he has nothing left to fight for. But then again, there's nothing holding him back. Revenge is something that has long been above Percy. But at the end of the day, at least it's something to fight for. The gods have forgotten that loyalty goes both ways. Going Your Own Way, but with Magic
Being 16 sucks. Being 16 and running away after you burn down a library with flames you shoot from your hands, trying to carve out a place in the world for yourself while understanding this strange curse double sucks. Getting interrupted from figuring out magic completely on your own by an evil witch with plans to take over the world by doing *extremely* gross things to dead bodies triple sucks. Add in a pet mouse, a hot boy who shows up halfway through and amounts of emotional suppression never before known to mankind and you get a rough approximation of Max's life.Complete
