Spirit is an impatient, prominent young cheetah with an ambition to reach the savannahs of Africa. Her mother was killed while taking the journey, and never set paw there herself. Many stumps along the road fall upon Spirit and her sisters, who are less enthusiastic about their ultimate goal than she. 

But when her dreams begin introducing her to inane prospects, she is pressured to act upon them. It's time for temperamental Spirit and her sisters to welcome new members to their Pride along the way, and find out if the distant grasslands are all they're chalked up to be.
