"Please! Please, don't do this! I will do whatever you want, I will give you whatever you want, just please." The woman cried, sobs rising from her heaving chest as her fingers scraped against the damp, gritty cement digging into her bare calves. Letting the sobs swallow her breath, she slowly lifted her head to look up at the person holding the rough rope tied tightly around her wrists. She tried to look into the bottomless pit where her captor's face would be. "Please. I don't want to die. Please, don't kill me." She begged.
Her captor seemed as frozen as a statue as she held her breath, unwilling to breathe again until she gained an answer to her pleas. She gasped and toppled over at an angle when her captor surged forward, a gasp ripping from her lungs as she stared wide-eyed into the hood. "You." She whispered.
Ian McNally is a homocide detective that has been put on the case of a dead woman. This detective has faced many cases and a lot of death. Ian McNally hunts for justice to the victims that end up in casefiles. But this time, someone seems to be hunting the hunter.

And while her husband realizes that his form of control isn't the ONLY way of control and that sometimes, giving up control can be a good thing and sometimes being unable to feel most emotions doesn't mean that they still can't be there in some form.
