Meet Me at the Borderline // Jacob X Edward

"Here," Edward walked up to a tree and dug his nails into the dry bark to leave an obvious scratch mark in the shape of an 'X'. He moved to an opposite tree a few feet away to leave the same mark engrained in the bark. "Don't cross these markers," he motioned an invisible line stretching from one marked tree to the other. "This should help you remember the borderline," Edward moved back to stand behind the invisible line. "My side," he pointed to the space around himself, "Your side," he pointed to where Jacob stood.

"How'd you-...How'd you do that?" Jacob questioned the deep 'Xs' in the trees.

Edward blinked. "...Sharp nails."

OR

Edward and young Jacob meet due to an unexpected circumstance and form a friendship.
