A few days after John, Curt and Andy were released from the hospital, the Wild Boys had since continued their education. While catching suspicions of an alien invasion, Roger had fallen ill with appendicitis. After being rushed to the hospital and needing surgery, the Wild Boys learned he had a mitochondrial disorder and had learned the truth on why their parents were experimented. Now they were hoping that Roger would be able to leave the hospital before Christmas and Chris' 18th birthday.

After calling Dr Hayley and learning that the tablet version of Endopril isn't done, Jon woke up and told him that the tablets Nick was taking were beta blockers. The next morning, both Simon and Nick went back to the hospital to see Dr Hayley and Dr O'Connor. They were told that the beta blockers would usually work for normal humans with tachycardia but would make an alien-hybrid even sicker. In Nick's case, he ended up with asthma and constant bronchospasms and now needs oxygen 24/7.
