After a traumatizing incident, indecisive young princess Kalina suffers from bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and obscure fevers, while struggling to find her place in a regressive and cruel world. A land resembling ancient mythological India where the sun sets in the south, and where humanity is at its worst. Wars, corruption and mindlessness rages the nation against their rulers and hope for a savior.
A narrow minded society constantly restricts Kalina from achieving the contentment she longs for. While exploring the flaws of humanity through a mythological spectacle, the narrative dives deep into the impact of a regressive civilization on the mental health of an individual and ways to counter it. Even with all the odds against her, Kalina conjures the strength to keep moving forward in a backward realm.
The narrative is a rare combination, that insights Indian mythology in a realistic and gritty light.. This version is loosely based on the Kalki puran which is a mythology that is rarely explored. The story of hindu Gods yet remain black and white, while my take tackles the complexity and reasoning behind every characters motivation. There is no good and bad, there is only flawed individuals, acting as circumstances guide them.
