After months of struggling to work up the courage, Peri finally forces herself to come out as trans to her family. It goes terribly. To make matters worse, that night she and her childhood best friend/older-sister figure of the same name find themselves together in one of the younger Peri's twisted, anxiety-fueled nightmares. The elder Peri swears that the violence they witnessed was nothing more than a dream, but the younger isn't so sure. As her world spirals out of control, the younger Peri sinks deeper and deeper into paranoia and isolation, her best friend the only anchor to reality she has in her increasingly surreal world. Can she confront the psychological root of her distorted reality, or will Peri succumb to her waking nightmare?
