What happens when a young girl goes on Charlie's "working" boat to learn to fish? From the outside she has everything but her father has a secret. When she refuses to go home and tumbles overboard it's up to Fireman Sam figure out the cause and what he discovers shakes the whole town. Just the next day the fire crew have to do a sea rescue, when they run into the Octonauts who were finishing up with a wildlife census. Peso is called in to look over the young girl, will she find safety and family from an... 'odd' group of talking animals of a station of firefighters?

Tweak loses her trust in Barnacles, and Inkling, the team's founder, demotes the captain to a Detective-a role he struggles to embrace, being better at solving game mysteries than real ones. As time passes, Peso is miraculously found alive and uncovers proof of Barnacles' innocence. It becomes clear that the real target of the poison was Barnacles all along.
