A historian from the 22nd century is sent to 1940 Brooklyn, to observe and report on the life of  23 year old James Buchanan "Bucky" Barnes, the future Winter Soldier, then Avenger.  Ariel has every intention of filling in the gaps about Barnes pre-World War II life, specifically if there was a great love of his life prior to shipping out.  Determined to be objective in her observations that all goes out the window when they meet and find a connection.  As Ariel allows herself to fall in love with the handsome ladies man her advisor worries that she is sacrificing her career for a romance with a doomed man.
