I laughed. Not a nice laugh, but one that was full of condescending hatred, "Even if he was, that would be none of your concern." I retorted, turning swiftly on my heels and walking in the other direction.

"Isla!" He called after me. I didn't stop. "Isla, you can get him reported for that kind of thing! You were in a dark alley with no one around if I hadn't shown up-"

"Oh, get over yourself Leclerc!" I growled, whipping around to face him. He had began following me through the corridor but stopped once my eyes landed on him, "Not only are you making accusations based solely on a snippet of what you saw, but you're acting like I should be thanking you for something! I don't need anyone saving me from sticky situations I get myself in, least of all you."

He was quiet for a while, and just when I thought he had decided to end the conversation and I could walk away, he spoke softly, "Why can't we just get passed this?" He asked, taking a step forward to which I quickly took one back.

"Because I don't want to."
