Adeline is what you could consider a runaway.
After enduring a home life equivalent to hell, she decides to leave home and start a new life for herself. She doesn't make it far until she's taken off the streets by a secret government agency designed to amplify normal human abilities to be used as weapons.
With Adeline as their new test subject, she experiences what seems like torture. However, with help from an outside source, Adeline escapes from her prison and is left to figure out just what exactly has been done to her.
