Katerina Spencer was a carefree, cheerful child until that all changed when her older sister passed away when Katerina was 14. Katerina comes from a family engulfed in wealth along with high expectations. Since her sister died the responsibility fell on her to be the perfect daughter. Her parents expect her to be picture perfect, in their eyes she should marry another wealthy man notably Theodore Henry, the son of New York City's very own mayor, as well as completing a degree from university and finding a successful job of their choice.

But will that plan be knocked off balance when Nicholas Taylor comes into the mix? Ever since his mother passed away when he was a young teen, he became reckless and careless, relying on alcohol and drugs to ignore the pain and warm memories of his mother.
