A girl named Avery Cadell has a father who passed away. Her mother decides to start dating again and randomly brings a man home one night, Luke. Avery could already tell Luke wasn't a good person. One day, Avery got suspended for standing up for her new friend Lana. When Luke picked her up he got really mad and hit her for the first time. Avery knew at this point she wasn't in a good position. Later, she goes out with her friend Lana and comes home late, her mother Rachel, didn't like that and hit Avery across the face. Luke must have told her something, she wouldn't do that out of nowhere. Averys mom started working night shifts so she knew her mother was working when she wasn't home late at night. One night, she didnt come home but Avery didn't know because she was asleep. When Avery woke up in the morning, she checked the news and saw her mother was drunk driving and got into a car crash.
