Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen
The story follows the main character, Elizabeth Bennet, as she deals with issues of manners, upbringing, morality, education, and marriage in the society of the landed gentry of the British Regency. Elizabeth is the second of five daughters of a country gentleman living near the fictional town of Meryton in Hertfordshire, near London. Page 2 of a letter from Jane Austen to her sister Cassandra (11 June 1799) in which she first mentions Pride and Prejudice, using its working title First Impressions. Set in England in the early 19th century, Pride and Prejudice tells the story of Mr and Mrs Bennet's five unmarried daughters after the rich and eligible Mr Bingley and his status-conscious friend, Mr Darcy, have moved into their neighbourhood. Retelling of the story pride and prejudice. " It is a truth universally acknowledged , that a girl in possession of too many pride and prejudice books , must end up in the book being a character she hates. " I love pride and prejudice, and read lots of retelling of that book and thought to write one myself. The character Caroline Bingley is not a favorite of most the readers... Including me. But I imagined what if someone ended up being Caroline of that book. Will they change her character ? Will something interesting happen from it ? , My character Lizzy hills loves to read pride and prejudice and she ended up in the novel being Caroline Bingley... What would happen next ? I will add few lines from the original text to have the fun of it , some scenes will be totally changed for the enjoyment. Pride And Prejudice, The Sequel
I have just finished reading Pride and Prejudice for the 100th time, and I really wanted to see how Elizabeth and Darcy handle their married life, so I decided to write my own sequel. This is just to satisfy my own wild side, I have never been to Great Britain (but I would love to!), and I know very little of the 19th century traditions. *I appreciate all the corrections I get on the culture/timeline/location/language/plotline dearly and would do my best to fix my mistakes in the story. I imagine that Cassandra, her sister, writes to the women who had inspired the protagonists of Jane's novels, asking them to write to Jane to comfort and distract her in a difficult moment, due to the illness that will lead her to death. Therefore, it begins between Jane, Elizabeth Darcy, Marianne Brandon, Maria Bertram, Catherine Tilney, Ann Wentworth and Emma Knightly an epistolary correspondence that reveals aspects of Jane's life and tells us what happens to Austen's characters after the end of her novels.
