A Vampire's Paramour

Evelyn Sapphire, a young college student. She works hard in her degree, but plays even harder at night. With her best friend by her side, an Australian Shepherd named Bella, she feels like she could take over the world.

Sadly the world is already ruled. The Vampires have come out of hiding running the top business and 'mostly' keeping to themselves. A dirty rumor has spread for years on them kidnapping women and men alike stuffing them away in their ivory towers. Doesn't help they still interact like it's the medieval world with a modern touch. No one knows why, nor how more vampires are being created.

When Evelyn leaves a party she's met with a god like man. She doesn't have time to evade when he throws her into a car with a mess of fireworks cracking over her skin.

"Please, please! I promise to be good, just let go. I won't speak a word of this! No one will know a Duke laid a hand on me." I tug on the door handle begging it to release. The soft leathers chill against my warm skin mocking me of the current predicament. He doesn't say anything in return, just keeps down the road in the opposite direction of my home, "Okay, fine! If you want to take me, and I be the best woman you've ever held hostage... I need my dog." Think! Think!

That got his attention. A horrid about of alcohol is in my system causing me to sprout idiotic ideas. I mean, what if the vampires eat dogs, "You'll be a good girl if I get your dog?"

"On a vampires blood promise." I make an 'x' on my heart. It's an oath most in this world don't take lightly, "Just for you."

"How ironic." But the weirdly formal looking attired man turned down a familiar road heading back towards my apartment. I never gave him the address, nor was I able to stay awake long enough to greet my little angel, but her nose bops in greeting were enough to tell me she's safe while I dozed back off in the care of a duke.
