In the distant future, the science of stimulation manipulation is no longer in its infancy; in short, extremely lifelike, realistic simulations are now possible. However, the simulations created proved so immersive that most people chose to spend their entire lives in them, eliminating the need for a physical body. With only a brain anchoring their mind to this world, they are forever trapped in the simulations they selected.
Some, however, opted against this radical new technology. One such man travels underground to visit a gargantuan vault where the disembodied brains are stored.

The New World

57 parts Ongoing

In the future, most people have been implanted in their brains since childhood. The implanted chip allows everybody to connect to the Networks as a simple operation of thought. Long time ago, occurred a terrible catastrophe called the Big Holocaust: a mysterious alien race destroyed most of the earth population by devouring their minds. The survivors were the ones who discovered and first used the implant, because it contains the "Refuge": a special hiding place where the mind may be sheltered by a mental operation. These survivors founded a new religious society. Among the strict rules: direct mind-to-mind connection is the highest sin; put one's mind in the Refuge before to sleep, and also before to die, is a holy obligation. A few rebel groups refuse to follow the rules and even refuse to get implanted. They are pursued and killed without remorse by the omnipotent Power... In parallel, the chronicle of a young Hopi recounts his family's turbulent migration to the New World promised to the chosen ones.
