Ren'dalar Eventide is a shadow elf who has been stuck in a reincarnation loop for thousands of years. After a nightmarish was against a tide of demons, the PTSD-stricken veteran is reborn into a world much nicer than the one he left.

Ren'dalar is an old D&D character of mine, and this is a canonical part of his backstory. I decided to write this short story after seeing a post on r/WritingPrompts by srbin_04-1389.
