Jack, thus far, has glided through life by his own rules and has successfully kept out of consequences' reach, no matter what chaos he has caused and no matter who he has hurt. Until Charlotte, his girlfriend, commits suicide. With guilt just an arm's length away from eating him alive, Jack tries to move on, pretend it never happened, forget her entire existence. But Charlotte has other plans. Jack's life takes a paranormal turn when her spirit sticks to him like his shadow as he tries to navigate his way out of trouble with her grieving father, her accusing best friend, and a nosy neighbour. He just wants to forget about her, just like the mess with his ex before: Amy. He can try to run again but he knows his secrets won't stay buried forever.

This is the story of an abused teenage girl, Maddie. Her need to die has become overwhelming and she is trying to find a way to help herself before she does something she may regret.
