This is an expansion on what was going on in Emmaline Alexander's mind on that last night in Castle de Ville. She has a lot of emotions running through her, perhaps magnified by vampirism - definitely by the storm, and makes a permanent decision.
If you've seen the film, you know what happens to her (mentioned in the tags and warnings), and I just want to give a disclaimer that no matter how well I (might) write this scene, I am not suggesting this as a solution to anyone. Heat rushed to my cheeks as I finally saw her. My heart stopped, and I momentarily forgot how to breathe once I saw her smiling down at me.
