When the moon turns blood red and the cries of wolves can be heard echoing throughout the land, a young woman must be sacrificed to appease the ancient god who lays dormant under Iris's village. Otherwise, this god from another time before men will rise and decimate the world. Iris wakes up in the middle of the night to find her family binding her hands and feet before dragging her out of her bed. She has been chosen as the next sacrifice. Although she begs for her life, the villagers ignore her pleas for mercy. Iris is carried to the pit, a chasm where, deep within, the beast resides. As she is held over the hole, with a void of pure darkness beneath her and sulfur permeating her nostrils, she realizes that she will have but one chance to escape. She wrenches her head to one side and whispers an incantation to a villager who is holding her. The pattern repeats over and over again as one by one the confused mob sacrifices themselves. Finally, you are by yourself, tied up on the edge of a pit with an angry ancient god digesting an unvirginal meal he never wanted.

She takes a step towards him and sits on his torso, as she wails for everything happened to him and for everything she could have had, but now can't. To the Gods, for cursing her with her damned destiny. He slowly cups her face, and joins their heads released from the powers unknown to her, as he comforts her, "Don't worry, we will be over this, together." Her sobs turns quiet, just when suddenly again his body jerk back in same position, as she apologize, "Sorry, but I can't be selfish enough, not for you, for me and for us."
