This Cinderella story is modern and the language is spoken from people that live in Washington DC, very, very loose terminology. A girl named Aiyana is abused by her departed mother's boyfriend and his two kids. She wishes for a better life but can't even run away for she has nowhere to go. She has no family, no friends, nobody to save her until a famous singer from another country named Shawn comes to the United States to perform at her school.
They both fall in love at the concert/dance but when Aiyana have to go to prison, their love is truly tried. Will the famous singer wait for her? Will she want him to wait for her? Will their love prevail?
