Poetry
This is a poem I had to do it 2014 for 12th grade Honors American Literature. I wrote it as a "Edgar Alan Poe" styled poem. The monster in the poem represents a woman; or a significant other pulling the narrator in; seducing him, then hurting him (emotionally assumably), then begging for forgiveness when the narrator tries to escape the relationship. The narrator, of course, once again returns to her and lets her back in; unable to abandon his "love"... (I hope that made sense)

I was running...running endlessly trying to find the door in this long dark hallway At the end of the hallway i finally found the front door ' i finally escaped ' i thought as i made it through the door into the front of the house I ran, ran as fast as my tiny legs could allow me to move...as i reached the front gate my body froze in fear All i heard was a dark chuckle from Him. My kidnapper, the person whom i longed to get away from *Clap* *Clap* *Clap* "Good job bambina" he says as he walks closer toward me " I-Im sorry " i mutter as tears start flowing from my eyes " awh sweetheart whats with the tears ? " he says as he wipes my tears with his thumbs " P-please dont h-hurt me " i say as he picks me up and puts me over his shoulder " Sorry princess but you tried to escape " he says coldly " dont cry i wont hurt you to bad " " i warned you " he says darkly...
