It's August 1st, 2021 - 33 years after Mudhoney released their debut single - when Holly Osmond is visiting her best friend, Rex, in Seattle. Holly can't wait to see her "besty" in person for the first time in over four years, but her plans to spend time with him quickly change when she decides to follow former Mudhoney bass player Matt Lukin after an encounter near the West Seattle Bridge. This leads to a whirlwind of events - a trip to the hospital, a disappearance, and a frantic search party - all on the first day of Holly's visit.

Is Holly really there to visit Rex, or will her grungey obsession win over their friendship? Will Rex be able to make a living from music without her? Might Lukin meet his maker by the end of this story? Who is the mystery guest?
