7 parts Ongoing MatureIn a city of fog and secrets, some minds are more dangerous than the plots they unravel
Gravenhollow is a city where shadows hide more than thieves and liars - they conceal horrors that defy reason. When Doctor John Watson returns home, he's drawn into the orbit of Alistair Thorne: a brilliant, unnervingly precise detective whose intellect borders on the inhuman.
Together they confront impossible crimes, alchemical conspiracies, and a hidden underworld steeped in magic and madness. But as they delve deeper, Watson begins to suspect that the darkest mystery of all may be Thorne himself.
A Victorian gothic mystery set in a fantasy world of alchemy, arcane science, and shadows. Inspired by Sherlock Holmes.
Author's Note:
A Study in Crimson is the first entry in The Thorne Case Files - a series of short prequel stories following Alistair Thorne, a Sherlockian detective of peculiar origin, and his companion Dr. John Watson.
Originally conceived as a D&D character, Thorne's story reimagines the classic detective archetype through the lens of Victorian gothic fantasy, where alchemy replaces science, and reason grapples with the arcane.
New chapters will be posted as they're completed. Reader theories and insights are always welcome
