Everyone's hearts are only visible if you wear special contacts. However, contacts won't point out if someone is wearing a coat or not. Only special glasses that few can get.

Coats are a medicine that can make your heart look like it's not broken, cracked, or shattered. Some people have a way of finding out the difference between coats and perfect hearts while wearing contacts.

Shattered hearts are unfixable, unless you are that persons soulmate.

Natsu had bumped into a girl with what seemed to be a perfect heart. That didn't stop Gray to tell Natsu how Lucy's heart was. The only issue was they didn't know how broken she was. Most people assume that when someone has a coat on, their heart is either shattered or merely with cracks wherever you look at it.

Will Natsu continue to hang out with Lucy?
