Things have been unraveling in Lynn's life recently and she can't quite figure out how to make it stop, how to regain control. She's so alone - especially after her best friend was murdered. The major issue here is Maggie's murderer hasn't been found. There were no clues left behind and anything there could have been, Lynn contaminated by entering the crime scene.
She blames herself. How could she have been so stupid? But, honestly, what would you have done if you had found your best friend lying in a pool of her own blood? Run out the door screaming, literally and ironically, "BLOODY MURDER!!!!"?
It's all Lynn sees, all she dreams as the days and nights tick by with this "cold case" looming over the town's head. For the townsfolk it's an ugly blemish that should've been buried with Maggie. But for Lynn, the nightmare is only beginning.
