What Was Lost in the Seventh Year

Draco Malfoy, the posterboy for the Slytherin Household and obvious pick for the path of a Death Eater finds himself to be a stranger in his own skin, an actor who dons the mask he must wear lest he let his lineage down and cause harm upon his family under the Death Eaters' watchful gaze. Everyone seems to wholeheartedly believe his grand show except for a certain blunder of a wizard. Neville Longbottom who seems to have taken up the torch of Dumbledore's Army's warlord. As the year progresses, the two find themselves inexplicably drawn together as they find kindred souls in each other even as they are on opposite sides of the conflict.
