Sam has been communicating with the dead since she was a little girl. She made friends with Eddie Munson easily, having a knack for finding fellow outcasts. She taught him how to talk to girls, and he taught her how to sneak out. Sam notices a change in Eddie when she agrees to a date with Gareth, the drummer of his band. As slick with words as he was, why could Eddie never find a way to tell Sam the real reason he never stayed with any of the girls he took out? Though she trusted Eddie, why could Sam never tell him about her gift?
