After your first physical contact with your soulmate you begin to softly glow and it only stops after you share your first kiss. Inspiring the glow in someone is considered the pinnacle of human existence and the greatest possible achievement. Logan personally doesn't see the benefit, having married a college friend out of convience an to avoid the stigma of having no real interest in finding his "soulmate". When a chance encounter with a complete stranger leaves Logan glowing, and the life he and his husband have built together is in jepoardy, Logan must face what he's avoided for almost his entire life. Besides, no one who follows their glow can hope to find a meaningful connection.

You see, Patton had no interest in a romantic relationship which was abnormal in a world ruled by the soulmate system. Virgil hated the soulmate system. He hated it because it gave him the words 'well aren't you a ray of sunshine' printed boldly on his forehead. Luckily for him, foundation was his best friend (and his only friend, for that matter).
