Ronnie is stuck in city mode and she's sick of it. She needs peace and quiet before it consumes her emotional state. She decides to move back home, hoping this will heal her soul in a spiritual sense. It's a big step, but she feels it's necessary. She and Cora, her sweet German shepherd leave Boston behind to move back in with her stents in Stockton Spring, Maine. Being back home in the small town she grew up in is just the thing to erase the complications of big city life. It's time to live in the slow lane, no more anxiety or hopelessness. Life is easy here and she'd like to stay and make an uncomplicated life for herself. Gavin is finally out of the Marine Corps. He'd like to leave that part of his life in the past and move on. It's time for a fresh start in a new place. He decided to follow his friend Tex home and see how he likes the state of Maine. So far he's enjoyed his long quiet walks and time in the beach, that is until one day he finds something green along the shore line. That day he discovers a lot more than an old coke bottle.

"The moon's really beautiful, if you think about it," I blurted. "Yeah?" he asked, mild amusement and curiosity mingling in his voice. "Yeah," I confirmed. "It's just- there's something about the moon that's ethereal. I don't really know how to describe it, but it's a constant in life. You can't always see it, but you have to trust that it's out there somewhere. And when you can see it, it's all bright and shiny and overcomes the darkness." I paused, searching for the right words. "I don't know. I guess it's a reminder that there are good things out there, even if you can't see them... And it's cool to think that someone hundreds of miles away is staring at the exact same moon as you. It makes me feel not so alone in life." Turning my head, I saw him staring at me intently with a thoughtful look on his face. "Too deep for a Friday night?" I laughed nervously, feeling my face grow hot. And this was precisely why I didn't go to parties. He shook his head and seemed to snap out of his daze. "It was deep in a good way." *** SHE was quiet & left out.
