She is the protagonist of the story and she's been through way too much. Being a girl who's mum has two jobs just to put a roof over their head, having a dad who ran off, no siblings is hard. She had a best friend but the friendship ended up being one sided. There's more that happens to her but I guess you're just going to read the rest to find out

Josie is Claire's best friend. Or should I saw was?
