"Thanks." Derek shoots her small smile, finally glances back to Stiles. He smirks slightly when he sees her hiding behind her own menu, lifts a hand and gently pulls it down so he can see her. His smirk widens when she only blinks back at him, stares back at him with those lovely big amber eyes of hers. He almost forgets to breath. Almost forgets what he was going to say.
"Lemme guess - two cheeseburgers stuffed with bacon and lots of curly fries?"
Her eyes widen, then, quickly narrow, and Stiles' heart simply flutters at the proud little grin he gives her. Somehow, she steels herself enough to answer without sounding like a total idiot. "You forgot about the strawberry milkshake."

Put your loving hand out, baby.
"You trained me too well, and I listened, like you always said, 'Don't only trust your magic, always have a backup plan." He then gives a two-finger salute, the sign he has trained with his pack, and before she can react, two shots are heard in the clearing. After weeks of partying and generally enjoying his last semester of college, he'd finally remembered that midterms were around the corner, and has spent the last week trying to catch up. By the time he comes upon the little tucked away coffee shop, Stiles has been up for 36 hours and doesn't exactly remember how he ended up on that particular street. The sheriff's boy
Derek never really had any complexes about aging, the way his muscles were just that tiny bit more strained after a long day on patrol, the greys that started popping up in his beard, he didn't really mind. But then he returns to Beacon Hills and sees Stiles, the boy he used to play tag with around the office, all grown up and more beautiful than ever. And suddenly being 36 seems a bit of an issue. (Human Story. Even though this story is mine, I do not own Teen Wolf or any of its characters. )Complete
