The draft began on June 21, 2042. For any college-bound seventeen-year-old, the thought of throwing away a lifetime of dreams to fight a war you don't fully understand in a nightmare-turned-reality. For Delainie Trenelli, it means the end of her college plans, aspirations to attend medical school, and hopes for having a few years for peaceful self-discovery. An incredibly intelligent, athletic, and creative young woman, Delainie struggles to find a place in the army, a place where her independent thinking, innovation, and refusal to blindly defer to authority make her an undesirable subordinate. When she blatantly disobeys orders in the field to save a stranger and her squad, she is deferred to a medical unit where her talents can be put to better use. Working in the medical tents and living in the barracks, Delainie is forced to confront the horrors of war, the terrifying truths about humanity, and questions about her own identity. Maybe, somewhere between the shellings and bodies, she can discover what she wants in life, who she really wants to be, and-if she's lucky-find solace with someone who understands.

"No mission too difficult, no sacrifice too great." The words of wisdom and bravery. Being the only female in the platoon was no different from being another guy. Everyone treats me the same as they do with everyone else. I just...wish it stayed that way. Now, I feel like a distraction, rather than a comrade. | This story is inspired by Call Of Duty WWII. I only own part of the storyline, but a majority of it is owned by Sledgehammer Games. |
