Matthew Jacob Horton, MJ to those who know him best, is a shy and quiet seventeen-year-old high school student recovering from a terrible accident that robbed him of his sight, and is about to embark on an adventure that could change his life forever.
Dealing with his broken body and traversing a world of darkness and despair brought on by depression and fear, MJ's two best friends talk him into leaving his room on a spring morning in May for an outing to the local park. They want to get him out of the gloom and misery that has become his life since that fateful fire at the local movie theatre, in the hopes of bringing back some joy into his life.
MJ jumps at the chance to show his family that he's ready to get back out into the world, but doesn't yet realize that a chance outing would lead him to a random act of kindness from a stranger who would eventually become his whole world.
Luke Robert Hemmings, a boy also seventeen in a pop rock band from Sidney Australia, also happens to be preforming with his band mates 5 Seconds of Summer in the same small local park in a suburb of Dallas Texas that MJ and his friends are picnicking at.
After thinking quickly with a small random act of kindness towards a stranger in need, Luke is sucked into a world where he helps young MJ to heal not only his body, but his heart and soul, while MJ in return helps Luke realize something that he had been keeping hidden from his family and friends. A secret that he fears will rip away everything he holds dear.
A random act of kindness, its simple and its sweet but can lead you to a whole world of open possibilities. What would you do if you saw a stranger in need? Would you take a chance and see where things lead, or would you walk away and hope that things work out on their own?
This is the story of what happens when Luke Hemmings takes a chance and shows MJ Horton a random act of kindness that turns both their worlds upside down.

Everything is cringy and bad about this story, but I decided to complete this book since I got a lot of comments disappointed it was never finished. Eric didn't choose or really want to be gay, it just kind of happen- something that just happened, he can't even remember how he found out he was gay all he knew was that he was, And it wasn't like there's nothing wrong with that. Eric wasn't homophobic, he didn't feel disgusted in himself but rather disappointed. Everyone put pressure on him to be this perfect person, whether it being grades or sports or family- everything would be ruin if he came out. That's why he hadn't told anyone in the last couple years, not because he's scared- pft, Eric Goodmen scared? Star football player? Could have all the women by just a click of a button if wasn't for being in love with the same gender- scared? He was just a little 'inconvenienced'. One party changed everything though- to many drinks and making out with the wrong gender to send his fake perfect life crashing down when discovering out the first person he came out to, kissed, and had sex with was Callum Micheals.
