You've heard of it haven't you? We all have, The Legend of Sparda. Long ago, in ancient times, a demon rebelled against his own kind for the sake of the human race. With his sword, he shut the portal to the demonic realm and sealed the evil entities off from our human world. But since he was a demon himself, his power was also trapped on the other side. What many din't known was that sparda had fell in love with a human woman and birthed two children, the eldest. Who in the future would walk a dark path and be know as the dark slayer. The Alpha And Omega, Vergil. and the youngest, who in the future would continue his father's legacy in protecting the human world from the demons of the underworld, and be known as The Legendary Devil Hunter, Dante.
Another legend i'm sure you know. The overseer clans. The umbra witches, who would practice the dark arts, and allign themselves with the demons of inferno, a place that's believed to be the first and true underworld, the same one sparda came from. And the lumen sages, who would practice the light arts and allign themselves with the angels of paradiso, who is believe to be the first and true heaven. The two clans lived in peace, a balance of light and darkness, until one day. The witch hunts began, a battle between light and darkness. In the end there was no victor. The umbra and the lumen finished each other off. And their history, deleted from the records of time. But like the legend of sparda there is something not many know, the reason of the witch hunts, a sage and a witch fell in love and conceided a child, breaking an ancient oath, the child would be a pariah to the witches, and then sealed during the hunts. Only to awaken 500 years later.
How do i know all of this? Well, that's simple. I'm the son of the devil hunter and the witch. My name is Luciel sparda. And like those before me, i will make my own legend. JACKPOT!
Demons can have no family.
Because of this, Legendary Dark Knight Sparda and his wife perished for their 'sin', and left Dante and Vergil in the world. The sons of Sparda fought, and in the end, only one was left standing.
But could that be the end of the Sparda family?
Vergil Sparda's only goal in life is to search for a demon named Phantom, to avenge his loved ones. Years ago, a demon ruined his family, and two decades down the road, Vergil Sparda has yet to put an end to Phantom. He views it as a weakness, but it is a weakness he cannot remove, or move past. It is a pain of a father who had lost his child, a husband who has lost his wife. There is nothing that Dante can do for his brother either, except to stay by Vergil's side, providing the only bit of family left.
Vicious Hunter Victor also hunts Phantom, looking up to Vergil as an idol. A not-too-remarkable boy in Dante's view, Victor somehow finds himself teaming up with his idol to hunt down the demon who had ruined both their lives. But, as Victor begins to realize, there is more to Vergil Sparda than he thought initially.
There is also more than Victor's dead parents.
Because, Victor might just be The Devil's Son.
