For the longest time, Polaris thought that she was just an ordinary girl, and she was okay with that, to spend the rest of her days with her best friend, Naomi. But when a cake explosion reveals her magical abilities, everything changes. Polaris is whisked away to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, to the dismay of her parents, who hate everything to do with magic and, in turn, start to resent Polaris as well. The whole school seems to wonder why Polaris joined the school late, going straight into her third year, but Polaris just passes it off as Dumbledore not being able to find her. Follow Polaris through her years at Hogwarts, and the eventual war as she balances trying to please her parents and make her way through the magical world, uncovering the mysteries of her life and curious circumstances. The main focus of the book is not her love life, but her growth throughout the series, and the war in the later books.
