valerie, charlie, annika, and veronica. a pair of best friends, enemies, lovers, whatever you want to call them. they live in a small michigan town, attend a small high school, and have bigger, better plans than anyone may realize within their group. they seemed to share their little blurbs with each other always. it's always been that way. well, until valeries mother gets a job promotion in western washington. valerie isn't sure how to tell her friends this year will be her last, so she doesn't. she writes letters, takes polaroid pictures, placing them in a box. she gifts it to charlie without telling him why, but deep down he knows she's leaving.
with charlie being the one most hurt, he is left wondering for years what had happened to their little family, their little group. until finally, during the holiday season of what would be their sophomore year of college, valerie comes home.
