Bound by Time (Mitake)

From the age of 16, everyone is assigned the time they have left until death. Some get several decades, others only a few years. But there are also those who only have a few months before their time is up.

Takemichi's 16th birthday is coming up and he is very nervous about what time he will get. Each member of his family still has a few dozen years left, but as Takemichi knew his luck, he won't get more than a few years in a best case.

Manjiro, or better known as Mikey, doesn't make a big deal out of the time he gets. His family, every member of it, got an average time so there is no reason for him to get different time than his others family member. And even if so, everyone has to die someday, right?

Mikey's family has moved back to his hometown and Mikey has to change schools. And Mikey ends up in Takemichi's class. Their first meeting was not exactly something they would like to remember, but they still manage to become friends.

But are they just friends?

Mikey also meets old friends (basically Toman) with whom he said goodbye years ago.

There are still a few weeks left until their 16th birthday, but the system has changed and every student gets their time, even if some of them are considerably early.

What times did his old friends endure? Is it possible that a change in the system changed their times? And most importantly, is it possible to go against the system?
