Miracle Alene doesn't need anyone.

She has her grandmother alone in this world and that's it. A world that she knows will chew her up and spit her out if she lets it, so she lets no one in, no matter how hard they may try. That is until, one night, she uncovers something she can tell no one about. Distraught over her reality being torn in two, she turns to people she never thought she'd turn to, befriending people she swore she never would, but on the path to discovering what happened that night, and what it means, she finds something much more sinister on her island. Something she never expected, but something that has been bubbling to the surface for centuries to come, and it all leads back to her.
