Outer Banks
Chloe's life was seemingly perfect. She had amazing parents and an amazing sister. She was what people in the Outer Banks call a Kook a rich kid. However, she was not just the same rich girl who was a typical Kook her parents understood the value of hard work and made sure she was a hard worker. She grew up watching her dad play baseball in the major league until his final days in the league. After he left, they moved to her mother's hometown of Kildare County. In an attempt to fit in with the rich folk, Chloe's father befriended the king of the island Ward Cameron. These men were like peas in a pod, and so their families were together all of the time. Rafe Cameron Ward's son showed interest in one of the twins from the beginning. He was immediately shot down, but she stayed friends with him. They stayed friends there for each other through thick in thin.

Yamileth Santos had always been told she was special. It wasn't whispered sweetly in her ear or etched into bedtime stories. No, her worth had been hammered into her like a jewel set into a crown-polished, flawless, and cold. Born into one of the wealthiest families in Outer Banks, Yamileth had learned early that power wasn't something given; it was something worn. Her father, a ruthless businessman, and her mother, a socialite who could dismantle anyone with a single arched brow, had raised her to be nothing less than perfect. By the time she was seventeen, she had mastered the art of being untouchable. Boys loved her, but she never let them close. Girls wanted to be her, but she kept them at arm's length. The only person who had ever seen cracks in her armor was her older brother, Mateo, but even he had left for college without looking back. Then, everything changed. That summer, the weight of her father's crown became unbearable. And that's when Yamileth finally noticed Rafe Cameron. They'd always run in the same circles-same parties, same people, same world. He was the guy with too much charm for his own good, always making a scene or pushing the limits of what even Kooks could get away with. She'd dismissed him for years as reckless and loud, more trouble than he was worth. But that summer, something shifted. Maybe it was the way he'd started showing up more often, his eyes lingering on her with a boldness no one else dared. Or maybe it was the fact that, for once, Yamileth felt a crack in her perfect, pristine life.
