Dog sledding is Fox Hatchett's life, she cares not for the usual teenage life. With the Qanuk Race quickly approaching now that December has arrived in Maine, the seventeen year old girl does nothing but practice for it. However, something is wrong; the sledding gear keeps turning up destroyed, dogs suddenly becoming injured, and contestants keep finding themselves in freak accidents. Fox, her friend Marley, and the new girl in town, Ally-Rose, are committed to figure out what is going wrong. Is it her biggest rival's doing? Could it be a hotel company attempting to take the land? Or is it a malevolent spirit taking revenge on the town for their death...
