Across the Wall

Leilani despises the other kids in her village. They are as incompetent as bugs to her. Bored and alone after losing her older brother, her life takes a drastic turn when she encounters a beast in the woods.

Leilani is an angry, misunderstood, spunky young girl. Given the chance to change her situation, she takes it. The only question is: is she changing her life for the better or for worse?

Though Fear and I were not acquainted, I would describe its cousin, Anger, as my closest friend. It was a fire in my stomach and my veins, begging me to burn this whole forsaken world down.
My stomach churned again. Hunger was also a close friend of mine. The one who stayed around too long, no matter what effort I put into satiating it, or banishing it all together.
