Continuing the events of Shattered Earth, Ivan is forced to live off the grid and takes a boat to sail to Abak island, a island off the coast of Russia. But after being caught by a scout boat belonging to the washington resistance, he is captured and questioned by a familiar face. When offered help to find his family in exchange for helping the resistance invade Russia.
