No matter what time has done, they know who they belong too.~ Excerpt from Book: "Were you reminiscing?" I watch as his eyes drop down to my sketch book. I quickly close it. "No, not at all" "Good, because it's never going to happen." He gets up and fixes his clothes and puts his jacket back on. "What's never going to happen?" I question putting my stuff together. "Us again. Don't get any ideas this relationship is strictly business nothing more-" "I really don't understand you Leo, I don't know what I meant to you but you sure as hell meant a lot to me and it's hard having you treat me this way. Can you just tell me why you are doing this?" I could feel myself tearing up no matter how many times I tell myself that this was not the Leo that I used to know yet my stupid heart can't stop wishful thinking. Something flashes in his eyes before he composed himself. "Get over it Aubrey it's been almost 10 years. Now get your stuff together and let's go." He said, as if I meant absolutely nothing to him. I had to pull myself together, I look stupid showing that I still cared for him. I don't know what broke my resolve to let out my feelings and break down my shell. *** Your world turns upside down when your high school sweetheart comes back after 10 years to marry you? Ridiculous right? Aubrey has lived her adult life finally doing the things she wants, not being controlled by her parents or anybody for that matter. She had taped up the box with memories of Leo, hoping never to touch it again. What happens when he demands her to be his wife and one of his many rules is that they can never love again. Imagine walking up into your mother's home and meeting the face of your high school sweetheart from 10 years ago. The two of you ended rocky, but here he is telling you he wants to marry you. Well he's 10 years too late. Why did he come back? And do they both still feel the same way from 10 years ago? Copyright © 2019. Lyssa105. All rights reserved.
