Dixie is a normal country girl, but normal is relative. She protects her mother and sister from her abusive father. When they move to Georgia, Dixie meets Chris, the son of the neighboring farmer. The two fall for one another hard, but the past slows Dixie down. When Dixie is shot in the chest, Chris is sure she won't survive, but through this trial he learns that nothing is stronger than the heart of Dixie.
